Pastor Lawsons Testimony and Background.
I am Rev. Lawson Sampson, born to the family of Mr. Adaigho Sampson and Mrs. Serena Sampson in January 2nd, 1973. My mom
died when I was a year old and my Dad died many years ago. I suffered as an orphan in the hands of many step mom's and Dad's
but God in His infinite Mercy sustained me and kept me alive because His purpose for bringing me into the world has not been
accomplish.
I remembered I used to walk naked in the streets because of the lack of clothes. I would cry for many hours and days for
lack of food and suffer hunger and not even sure of where the meal is going to come from. I went through hell growing up most
of the things that happened to me during that tender age is unbearable and unforgetable...sometimes it seems as if the video
is playing in my head.
I manage to start school only when my hands get to my ears measuring by putting your hands across you head to touch your
ears. During my primary education I would walk bear footed to school and I would walk miles before getting to school. I am
always late to school because I lack the means to arrive there at the stipulated time. I suffered to get to the last class
in my primary school, but when the final exams came I could not take it because I lack the funds to pay the fee and to travel
to the next village where the finally exams would hold.
The places I use to pass the night was nothing to write home about. I'd cut long story short...During this period of time
death would have been better in my own little understanding then, but the Lord sustained me through it all and He kept me
alive. It is my heart to make sure no child that comes across me in this world would suffer what I suffered in life. I know
they are many out there undergoing the same tribulations but with God I shall meet them someday.
After all my up and down in the wicked world I finally met Christ in the year 1990. I placed my trust in Christ that year
as my savior and Lord, but I was not ready to be committed to Him in any way because I had different ideas and ambitions for
my life.
Although some ministers of the gospel spoke to me that God wanted to use me, but I was not interested in what they were
saying because I was not willing To trade my career in business and professional soccer game for anything else.
So in 1998 I got the opportunity to travel out of Nigeria to Moldova, Russia to continue with my life and completely focus
on my career in professional soccer and join my brother in the business world. The business and the soccer dream failed after
a lot of struggles trying making it my way.
But as the Lord would have it a friend introduced me to a church called Kisinav Bible church founder and president from
the USA, namely, Ronald Helton and Dorcas Helton.
I got to the church for the Sunday worship service. While I was sitting something keep telling me to requite for a Bible
from the Pastor immediately after the service. So after the service I ran through the door but something brought me back in.
I finally asked pastor Ron for a copy of the bible but unfortunately he could not lay his hands on one that day but he promised
to give me one if only I would attend their Gospel of John studies. So I attended the mentioned Bible study just like every
other persons. At the end of the study the pastor asked us to write down our names and I wrote mine too. So the following
day after the gospel of John study class the pastor called and said to me that, "while he was praying on the names we
wrote the previous day God clearly spoke to His heart that, He wanted to use me if only I will be willing.
After we ended the gospel of John study the man of God enrolled me into the Moldova Bible Seminary. I was able to attend
one half academic year and I started having problems with my residential permit. The pastor called me again and said it is
time for me to return home (Nigeria)but I fought my return as well not knowing what I am going to do when I get home, but
he promised not to send me back home empty handed.
So I finally returned home June 13th 2000 and begin the mission work full-time. By His grace I am now married to Joy and
the Lord has blesses us with 5 children which are great and good gifts from above.
I am now by His grace the President/Founder of Crossway Evangelical Ministries Worldwide, Generational Sports International,
Generational Sports Academy, and the Gift of Love WORLD Ministry Field Director. GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO ME!
I not only preaches on the field during his soccer tournaments but also has a church in Badagry, Lagos In Nigeria. I
also has been asked to preach in many parts of the world, recently he was in Accra Ghana and spoke at six different churches
and is now preparing to plant a church in Accra Ghana this summer.
I have a beautiful wife and 5 children. Wife Joy, and Jennifer, Samuel, Overcomer, Faith and Love.
Joy is a very anointed preacher in her own right and an evangelist does street preaching.
